£1m Saving ROI x20


We were engaged by the Group Engineering Director of a £3bn construction business to advise and lead internal change agents on projects to improve effectiveness and efficiency of 400 Design Engineers; problems were arising from a skills shortage and high NPI load.


After assessing the current situation to understand the greatest opportunities to improve service to customers (whilst gaining efficiency benefits) we worked with 13 divisional Engineering leaders to gain consensus and buy-in to drive 3 key activities.  


These activities included upskilling a key internal change agent through several Current, Future and Ideal State VSM activities.


Streamlined a 72 step process to 27 steps.

Generated £1 million per year saving.

Achieved a x20 return on investment (ROI)

Saved scarce Engineer time and shortened the LT to cut-in changes.
