The best way to maintain a good working condition is to make it possible, and a good 5s check sheet will help you to make it possible.

The 4th S (standardise) can be tricky so here's a blank checksheet, example and template to help.

When creating a 5s checksheet make sure you:

​

1. Make it easy to follow. A good 5s checksheet has only 5 or 6 clearly, specifically expressed items with a photo of each of them to show you the good condition.

2. Make it achievable.  At best you're giving your operators maybe 5 minutes at the end of the shift. So, whatever you're asking them to do has to be achievable in that time.
